INTERNATIONAL WOOD WEEK TO FEATURE EVENT DEDICATED TO PINE CULTURE AND MARKETS

Originating from North America, the Pine tree has found its ideal environment for development in the Southern region of Brazil. According to the Brazilian Tree Industry (Ibá), the South region is the primary supplier of this wood in the country, accounting for 89% of the total. Paraná leads with the largest planted area, spanning 713,000 hectares, followed by Santa Catarina with 701,000 hectares.

Pine cultivation in Brazil covers approximately 1.6 million hectares, representing about 20% of the country’s total planted forest area. Pine wood production is essential for various industries, including paper and pulp, furniture, construction, and resins.

During International Wood Week, a unique event will focus on Pine culture, its challenges, and opportunities. Pinus Conecta has been created to bring together experts, enthusiasts, and professionals dedicated to Pine cultivation, with the aim of exploring and discussing key issues related to this important forest crop in Latin America.

The event seeks not only to highlight the significance of Pine in the industry and its technologies but also to provide insights into market trends and future prospects through discussions with renowned experts.
